Last Weekend of Summer Warm Humid Saturday Lower Humidity Sunday

Tropical Storm Odette is offshore well to the east of the Delaware coast. It is doing its job of moving away to the northeast and at the same time allowing weather systems to move along from west to east. We are seeing a nice enough day here to start off the last weekend of summer but it is on the humid side with some sunshine. Clouds to the northwest are due to an approaching cold front. We might see a scattered shower or thunderstorm this evening or into the first part of the night. Then the front passes offshore. Highs this afternoon will reach into the low and middle 80s.

Skies will clear out tonight and the high pressure from the Great Lakes builds into the Northeast for Sunday and Monday. Lows will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s. The humidity will be noticeably lower on Sunday as dew points drop into the 50s and even a few 40s north and west of the coast. We will see lots of sunshine Sunday with highs mostly in the 70s.

The high goes out to the northeast and the flow becomes onshore on Monday. It should still be a nice day with partly sunny skies with highs in the 70s to near 80. However we will start to see moisture move in Monday night and Tuesday in the form of clouds. We are getting to the time of year where the weakening sun angle is less effective in burning off lower clouds so Tuesday is likely to be on the cloudy side with highs mostly in the 70s. Some drizzle could start to come into the mix later Tuesday or Tuesday night.

Wednesday brings an approaching cold front. It will be a humid day with a southerly flow ahead of it. Rain and a few thunderstorms move in Wednesday evening and overnight before the front moves offshore. Highs Wednesday will be in the 70s.  Weather conditions will improve after that with sunshine returning Thursday and Friday to finish off the week. Thursday highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s and Friday highs will be in the cool 60s to near 70s with low humidity both days.
